Renowned Islamic scholar and preacher Sheikh Muyideen Ajani Bello has passed away, leaving the Muslim community in deep sorrow.
Osuntv gathered that Sheikh Ajani passed away at 85 years old.
The news was confirmed on Friday by his close associate, Sheikh Akeugbagold Taofeeq.
In a heartfelt tribute on social media, Sheikh Akeugbagold described the day as one of his “saddest.”
He wrote, “My father and mentor has returned to his Creator. SULTONUL WAHIZEEN of Yorubaland Sheikh Muyideen Ajani Bello, may Allah be pleased with your soul. Our hearts are full of grief and our eyes full of tears, but we submit to Allah, the sole commander of life and death.”
Sheikh Bello was widely regarded for his fiery sermons, his dedication to Islam, and his role as a mentor to countless clerics and students across Yorubaland and beyond.
Over the years, he earned respect for his emphasis on righteousness, community service, and the unity of the Muslim Ummah.
