Nigeria Navy Commissions 264 Cadets

President Bola Tinubu has commissioned 264 cadet into the Nigerian Navy.

Represented by the Honorable Minister of State for Defense, His Excellency, Dr Bello Muhammad Matawalle MON, Tinubu was the special guest of honor at the Passing out parade and commissioning ceremony of Direct Short Service Course (DSSC) 29 and Special Duty Pre-Commissioning Training (SDPCT) 24.

A total of 264 cadets were commissioned comprising 115 DSSC 29 and 149 SDPCT 24 cadets at the eventĀ held on Saturday 24 May 2025 at Nigerian Naval College (NNC) Ebubu-Eleme, Rivers state.

The Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla received many dignitaries that attended the event including the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral IE Ibas (rtd), the Chairman House Committee on Navy, Honorable Yusuf Adamu Gagdi and the Amayanabo, King of Brass Kingdom Alfred Diette-Spiff.

The SGOH commended the CNS, the Flag Officer Commanding Naval Training Command, Rear Admiral IM Albara and the Commandant NNC, Rear Admiral HS Zego for a job well done in training the Cadets.

He further charged the newly commissioned officers to brace up for the challenges confronting the Nation and make significant contributions wherever they are posted.

The ceremony was attended by family, friends and well-wishers of the newly commissioned officers.
