The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has launched an on-site investigation into the crash-landing of a training aircraft in Ilorin.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:28 p.m. on Friday, May 23, during a simulated instrument approach on Runway 05 at the General Tunde Idiagbon International Airport.
The aircraft, a Diamond training plane operated by the Aviation Training School, was carrying two occupants at the time of the incident.
Both people survived the crash and are currently receiving medical attention. One of the occupants has undergone an MRI scan, while both are reported to be conscious and in stable condition.
The NSIB has assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash.
