The National secretary of the All progressives Congress, Ajibola Basiru has stated that those who will decide the candidacy of the party in the 2026 Governorship elections in Osun State are not in the state.

He made the claim while inaugurating a support group, Alubarika Movement in Osogbo, Osun State capital.

Senator Basiru expressed confidence in the leadership of the party to pick a credible and winning candidate who will unseat the ruling party in the state.

He stressed that the party remains united in the state and is getting more popular by the day.

The APC scribe dismissed insinuation of divisions within the party in Osun State, noting that the party is on course to reclaim power from the PDP in the 2026 gubernatorial election.

At this gathering over 1000 grassroots canvassers were inaugurated by the APC national secretary to work for the victory of the party in the 2026 guber election.

He disputed the claims that APC is responsible for the crisis in the PDP at the national level stressing that PDP is suffering from ambition clashes.

He said APC is however happy with the situation of the opposition party.

While assessing the performance of the Osun State government under Ademola Adeleke, he described it as ‘zero’ government.

He claimed that the budget expenditure of the government house is higher than the sum of agriculture, health and other key sectors .

He also alleged that the governor is running the state affairs by proxy calling him to clarify who is in charge between him and his siblings.

He however charged the state government to improve its efforts on education, health and agriculture.

Gubernatorial election in Osun State is less than two years and political events have commenced especially in the major political parties.
