Their was pandemonium at Osun State high court where police fire teargas to disperse the judiciary workers who had converged for a meeting organized by the conference of judges at the court premises.
Following this development judiciary staff union in Osun State has declared indefinite strike over assault on its members by the police during the meeting
The state chairman, Oluwagbemiga Olakunle made the announcement at the customary court of appeal in Osogbo while insisting that the union will not backtrack in demanding its right.
Chanting Solidarity songs until police were seen firing tear gas to disperse them and also shooting directly at journalists .
In his address, the chairman said the Juson congress resolved on Monday to picketing the office of the chief judge on the grounds of members’ welfare and instructed the CJ to stay away from the high court premises.
He said a committee set up by conference of judges however invited the union for a meeting to address issues of the staff welfare before the police allegedly lobbied the ousted CJ into the office.
The union is demanding reinstatement of all staff suspended by the CJ,regularisations and promotion of qualified staff, restoration and sponsorship of staff to The NJC training institute, wardrobe allowance arrears from 2021 till date among others.
He however directed all members to suspend all judicial services until further notice.
